Sebelle and Kaan met in March 2010 during their ninth grade year of high school. Sebelle had recently moved to Istanbul from New York and was beginning her first day at “Hisar Okullari” school. As luck would have it, Kaan had been a student at “Hisar Okullari” since the first grade and was given the task of touring Sebelle around campus earlier that morning. Neither Kaan nor Sebelle could have known that as they made their way down the halls to meet one another, they were also on their way to meeting their future husband and future wife.
A few months later, in June 2010, Sebelle and Kaan went on their first date at the Italian restaurant “Da Mario”. It was there that they discovered how much they had in common. They talked, laughed, and developed a deeper understanding of one another. Although they were just sixteen years old with much more to learn about themselves, they shared a special bond that has endured throughout the years and will continue to grow for the rest of their lives.
In the following years, Kaan and Sebelle took time to grow independently. Kaan attended the University of Miami and Sebelle attended Northeastern University and New York University. However, despite being in different places and experiencing different paths, they remained in touch and close to each others' hearts.
On March 30th 2018, one year after they graduated from college, Sebelle and Kaan reconnected in Los Angeles. They stayed together from the first moment they saw each other, and were happily engaged on November 10th, 2021.
Kaan and Sebelle will be married on March 25, 2023. They are excited to begin their next chapter as husband and wife and look forward to their wonderful life ahead as “Mr. and Mrs. Karahan!”
